Lisbon
Upon arrival in Lisbon, we are welcomed by our tour manager and begin our journey north to Fatima, one of the most important Marian shrines in the world. This sacred place marks the site of the apparitions of Our Lady to three shepherd children in 1917. After checking into our hotel, we gather for dinner. This evening, we can join pilgrims from around the world for the International Rosary Procession at the Apparition Chapel, a moving introduction to the spirit of Fátima and its message of PEACE.
Fátima
Today is devoted to the graces of Fátima. We celebrate Mass at the Chapel of the Apparitions, the very site where Our Lady appeared. We then visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, the resting place of Saints Francisco and Jacinta, as well as Sister Lucia. Our pilgrimage continues to Aljustrel, the small village where the shepherd children lived, offering a glimpse into their simple lives of faith. The afternoon is free for personal prayer, quiet reflection, or time within the sanctuary. Dinner at our hotel. In the evening, we join the moving International Rosary Procession, a highlight for many pilgrims.
Santarem
This morning we board our motor coach and make our way south to Santarem, where we visit the site of the Miracle of the Eucharist of Santarem. Here we celebrate Mass. We continue to Nazare, a striking seaside village. Here, we visit the Chapel of Our Lady of Nazare on a cliff overlooking the ocean, devoted to a statue of Our Lady which tradition says was carved originally in Nazareth (Nazare). After some time in Nazare, we will travel to the medieval town of Batalha including its mighty church and the Abbey of Alcobaça. Founded in 1152, the church and monastery are the earliest examples of Gothic architecture in Portugal.
Lourdes
This morning we drive to Lisbon airport for our flights to Toulouse. After airport formalities, we’ll journey to Lourdes, where we will join fellow pilgrims from around the globe in a breathtaking candlelit procession. Enjoy a wonderful dinner and a cozy stay at our hotel in Lourdes!
Lourdes
Today, we begin with mass at the Grotto of Massabielle, where our Lady appeared to Bernadette in 1858. Later, we take our official group photo in front of the Basilica, followed by our guided tour of Lourdes: The Sanctuary of the Basilica of St. Pius X, the world’s largest underground church. The Basilica, The Baths, where thousands of miraculous cures have taken place, is France’s most respected shrine and sanctuary. Also to be visited are sites associated with the life of Saint Bernadette, like the Boly Millwhere she was born; the Locale Mill – residence of her parents; the Cachot – formerly used as a jail where she lived at the time of the Apparitions; the Chapel – where she received her first Holy Communion; and the Parish Church containing the baptismal font where she was baptized. We will have some free time before returning to our hotel for dinner and overnight. After dinner participate in the candlelight processional.
Lourdes
A free day in Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes is never truly “free”, it’s a day to encounter grace in your own way. Some are drawn to the healing waters, stepping into the sacred baths with quiet hope. Others return to the Grotto, lighting candles and whispering prayers to Our Lady. Some walk on the peaceful grounds, sit in stillness, or simply take it all in. However it is spent, a free day in Lourdes becomes deeply personal.
Montserrat
After breakfast and check out, we will depart Lourdes and drive over the Pyrenees to Montserrat, home to the Benedictine monastery set in the Montserrat mountain range, here we will have Mass (subject to confirmation). Pilgrims worldwide flock to this monastery to view its magnificent architecture in such a striking setting. This shrine has attracted pilgrims for over 700 years, much as it did Ignatius of Loyola in March 1522. We pause here to visit the Black Madonna of Montserrat, probably Spain’s most fervent devotion to the Blessed Mother.
Barcelona
This morning, we head to the most famous Holy Family church, La Sagrada Familia. La Sagrada Familia is an unfinished Catholic Basilica in Barcelona designed by the celebrated Art Nouveau architect Antoni Gaudi. We enjoy a full guided tour of the Basilica before we celebrate Mass. After lunch, we head to Park Guell. Later we return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Barcelona
This morning with a walking tour of Barcelona. Stopping at the Cathedral of Barcelona for Mass. Time for lunch before we head to La Rambla for free time and shopping.
Split
This morning, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Split. Upon arrival to Split (or Dubrovnik) International Airport, your group will meet with your guide and driver, and your pilgrimage journey to Medjugorje begins. After short border formalities between the Republic of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the group will arrive in Medjugorje. Check into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Medjugorje
After breakfast, your local English-speaking guide will begin introductions, starting with a walk from your hotel to St. James Church. You will arrive just before the first English-language Mass at 10:00 AM. In the afternoon, we will visit Bijakovici Village and Apparition Hill (also known as Podbrdo), where Our Lady first appeared. In the evening, gather with pilgrims from around the world at 6:00 PM to pray the Rosary. All three Mysteries will be prayed during the evening program, followed by Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, or Veneration of the Cross. Religious articles will be blessed after Mass.
Medjugorje
This morning, pilgrims will have the opportunity to climb “Cross Mountain” (Krizevac), a powerful site of prayer and reflection. We’ll also visit the “Blue Cross,” another location of apparitions. The remainder of the day willallow time for private devotions, quiet reflection, shopping, or simply enjoying your own “freedom of prayer.” We will gather again for the evening Rosary and Mass program.
USA
Today we transfer to the airport for our return flight home. As our pilgrimage comes to an end, we depart with hearts full of gratitude for the sacred places visited, the friendships formed, and the many spiritual blessings received throughout our journey.
